I am writing this letter to you with the expectation
and intention that you may show it to prospective customers as a letter of
recommendation. I recently had occasion to use Precision Builders to
handle a very difficult restoration job on my personal residence. A
previous contractor had caused serious and dangerous structural damage which
required immediate emergency attention. The necessary reconstruction work
also required cosmetic repair to my home.
Precision Builders' representatives conducted
themselves in a thoroughly professional and competent manner, moving quickly
to restore the integrity of my home with the absolute minimum of disruption
and damage. All the employees at Precision Builders conducted themselves in
a highly professional manner and gained the complete confidence of myself
and my wife. We were completely satisfied with the work of Precision
Builders and would unqualifiedly recommend them to anyone in need of fine
quality repair or restoration work.
- Evan T. Lawson, Boston, MA
I write to recommend Precision Builders to you with
enthusiasm and without qualification.
I hired Precision Builders to complete several
construction projects including the replacement and repair of living room
walls and ceiling, installation of recessed lighting, repair of bathroom
vanity, patching and smoothing various other walls and repainting of
numerous walls and ceilings. All projects were completed quickly, cleanly,
and the final result looks spectacular!
In terms of quality, Precision Builders is second to
none. The work performed was top notch. Precision Builders staffs each
particular project, whether it is installation of walls or recessed
lighting, with experts knowledgeable in materials, craftsmanship and
aesthetics. Additionally, the workers clean up after each day of work.
With regard to service, I was impressed. Precision
Builders' workers showed up on time and completed every job quickly. Unlike
other home construction firms, Precision Builders knows how to finish a
job! They did not be-labor any project. Additionally, and importantly,
Precision Builders returns phone calls (even on the weekends), immediately
responding to needs and requests. For example, the vanity in my bathroom
was in terrible condition. I called Precision Builders on a Friday to have
the vanity repaired. The next Saturday, Precision Builders had a master
craftsman repair the vanity on the same day!
I have worked with other home construction firms and I
have never seen as good of quality and service as I experienced with

Having recently worked with Mr. Feeney on the
renovation of our corporate offices, we at Unihab, as architects and
developers, give Mr. Feeney the highest recommendation as a supervisor and
coordinator of plumbing, electrical and other related trades.
We feel that Tom’s greatest strengths are not only
found in the quality of what he provides, but in his understanding of

The house, built in 1868 and in the Back Bay Historical
District, has had little exterior care in the past 50 years. The project
involved the first stage of repair, renovation, and/or replacement of the
exterior rear wall, dormer roof and dormer windows, gutters and downspouts,
and fire balconies.
Our Board of Managers conferred with you often over 18
months before signing a contract. We were impressed by your knowledge,
expertise, suggestions, and patience then and during progress of the
The work itself went smoothly and rapidly. Under your
direction, your staff worked neatly with remarkably little disruption of
living patterns here. They showed thoughtfulness and consideration for the
young woman whose newly-painted apartment was the only access to the roof,
and whose interior walls you left in exquisite order after installation of
All of you demonstrated good judgment in maintaining
good relationships with neighbors whose parking spaces had to be preempted
by you during the day for work and storage space. (Although the Board of
Managers had distributed written advance notice, compliance was not
complete.) We are grateful for your diplomacy and for the tidy order in
which they could resume parking after 5:00 p.m.
You stayed within budget.
In short, this project, which the Board had long
anticipated with much anxiety, moved smoothly and effectively once underway.
From ongoing observation, we express appreciation of
pride in workmanship and generosity of time and effort shown by you and Mike
(the supervisor), Jack, Henry, and several others, to inform, reassure, and
satisfy in a truly professional performance.
As funds become available, we shall hope to consider
with you a second stage of repair.

This letter is both a thank you and a letter of
recommendation for the outstanding restoration work you performed on my new
house late last summer. As you know, I had both termite and dry rot damage
to parts of the house sill and along the roof line. You also discovered
that the storm drain from the roof was not functional, and you repaired
that. Several indoor renovations were also made to my living room, kitchen
and one bathroom, all of which were well done.
I appreciated the care with which you described your
plans and work at every stage of the process. With the exception of the
drainage problem (which we did not know about), your estimate of the time
required for the work was right on target. Everything worked out well.
You also gave me several excellent references for
people who could perform other specialized jobs. You coordinated your work
well both with other workers I had arranged and ones you subcontracted
directly. Finally, I appreciated your excellent advice and help on various
minor jobs that came up during the project. The work I was doing was much
more efficient because of your help.
Once again, thank you for all of your work. I strongly
recommend your company to anyone considering home renovation or restoration.

This letter is to serve as a reference for Mr. Thomas
Feeney and Precision Builders. Having recently worked with Tom on the
renovation of Dr. Perry Hearn's medical office, I found him to be
thoughtful, conscientious and knowledgeable in his work.
He took pride in his work and was very easy to work
with and very responsive to all our concerns during construction.
I feel confident in Tom's qualifications and recommend

Feeney has been met with professionalism and enthusiasm. We look forward to
an ongoing association with him.

Tom Feeney has done extensive contracting work for our
company during the last 12 months. The quality of his work has been very
high and his time and cost estimates have been accurate.
We can highly recommend him as a qualified craftsmen,
effective supervisor, and honest businessman.

Our firm has been a consultant to the architect for the
renovation project of 225 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts. We
have known Mr. Tom Feeney as a construction superintendent for this project.
We have found Mr. Feeney's work to be of very high
quality. Under this supervision, the construction has progressed flawlessly
and on time. He has a good understanding of structural issues, is able to
pinpoint the possible structural and safety problems and addresses them
adequately. His ability to supervise the construction team was very

We have known Tom Feeney in his capacity as
superintendent of construction of 225 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA, in
the historic Back Bay area.
This project is the gut renovation of a 6-story
townhouse of 11,000 square feet. All mechanical and electrical systems are
While many historically valuable details have been
saved and restored, at the core of the building a structural reconstruction
was repaired, involving a considerable quantity of new steel beams and
structural lumber, and extensive remodeling of the existing steel structure,
all per engineer's and architect's plans.
New masonry fireplaces and flues were built, and
existing masonry bearing walls replaced by a combination of new masonry
piers and steel columns, bearing on new grade beams. Masonry work included
repair and restoration of the existing front and rear facades.
We have found Tom Feeney's work to be of the highest
caliber. He shows a quick and sure understanding of all structural
problems, finishes and aesthetic questions. His work has been orderly, well
coordinated, and conducted with all reasonable considerations of safety.
Certainly, he has shown the ability to effectively supervise large teams of
workers, and relates well to all principals involved with the job.

This is to give our enthusiastic endorsement of Tom
Feeney's work as general contractor, under the auspices of his firm,
Precision Builders, on a renovation made to our home.
Our house is a conspicuous specimen of the Craftsman
style, located on a main street near Newton City Hall. It was featured in
the Newton tricentennial volume and noted for its front pergola porch with
banks of windows.
Tom Feeney had the sensitive task of demolishing that
porch (which had structural problems) and rebuilding it in authentic style.
His success in this job has led our friends to observe that the new room
"looks as if it had always been there."
Mr. Feeney's strength as general contractor for our
renovation was his ability to stay in communication. He listened carefully
to our wishes, negotiated solutions, and consistently kept us informed of
what was happening. He dealt effectively with a troublesome set of city
permitting procedures. He was adaptable as the project proceeded and frank
about extra costs that developed. His carpenters and subcontractors were
prompt, professional, and considerate of our daily needs and the appearance
of the lot.
We are very pleased with the outcome and highly
recommend Precision Builders. We would be glad to respond to further

In addition to Mr. Feeney's extensive knowledge of
building reconstruction and his excellent supervisory techniques, he relates
